PVD Fest and Once Upon a Sign, Thank you!

A short while ago in this galaxy I saw a Facebook post about an upcoming event for the PVD (Providence) Fest that happens in early June. A group called Once Upon a Sign was asking for submissions for PVD Fest!

When I looked into it, it seemed an easy win-win. Write a short story, and if you get picked your story gets put on a big ole sign during the weekend of PVD Fest and people from all over Rhode Island will read it!

It’s great publicity and a fun way to support the arts in Providence.

I scribbled out a story that I really enjoyed and made my submission.

What made my heart jump with joy was when I got the email saying I had been picked!

Fast-forward to the weekend of PVD Fest. My fiancé Frankie and I went over to Providence, to Kennedy Plaza, where my and many other amazing stories were posted, and I got to see MY sign.

I have to admit it was pretty amazing.

I don’t care who you are, it will always be fun to see YOUR work posted somewhere were 100s to 1000s of strangers can see it and read it and engage with it.

At the bottom of this post see a closer version of my story, “The High Chair” and let me know what you think!

Thank you Once Upon a Sign and thank you PVD Fest for this opportunity!
